With the growing wildfire risk in BC, campfires are allowed only in designated fire pits, and temporary bans are becoming more common. To help prevent wildfires, never leave your campfire unattended. Make sure it is completely out before you leave.
The CSRD (Columbia Shuswap Regional District) and RDNO (Regional District North Okanagan) are currently reviewing fire protection areas. At this time, Club Mara still remains outside a fire protected area. Ensure you inform your insurance company and confirm you have the proper coverage. Currently: 1. 18 fire extinguishers are located throughout the park - clubhouse, shop, marina, and on each electrical shed
2. It is recommended that you have an additional fire extinguisher on your lot
3. Check your smoke and gas detectors annually to ensure they are working properly
4. Remove dead/dry plant material from your yard
5. Make sure your BBQ is a safe distance from your unit. Store propane tanks safely
6. The resort emergency exit is located along the 97A highway at the southeast corner of the park. Please do not park anything in this area that may block the exit.
7. Fire alarms and emergency lights are located throughout the Clubhouse
