Park Rules & Expectations

Hello Club Mara Resort Owners,

We would like to share some general information as a reminder to you and your guests as the summer season is upon us.
We hope you have a great summer and make some excellent memories at Club Mara Resort.

  1. Sewer System
A big reminder that certain items flushed into our sewer system can cause serious and expensive damage. Let's be cautious and considerate of these operations by using septic friendly products and by not flushing anything outside of the systems design - toilet paper and human waste.

Also, when the power goes out that the lift station down at the playground park and the pump for our potable water do not operate. The combination of these two major pieces of equipment not being able to run has caused problems in the past with the raw sewer holding tank comes close to overflowing. To prevent this from happening, please DO NOT FLUSH TOLIETS & LIMIT WATER USE during a power interruption.

  2. Water Conservation
Club Mara Resort owners and Management should take all reasonable measures to ensure that the use of water is minimized. We ask owners to restrict their water usage when possible and use water-conserving and/or high efficiency water devices when installing new or replace fixtures.

Visit our Sewer & Water page for more info.

  3. Rentals
Reminder that rentals booked through Club Mara Resort Management will be given access cards upon arrival that must be returned upon checkout.
If you have chosen to rent out your lot without CMR Management involvement, you will be responsible for providing access cards and keys to your visitors.

A head count is taken everyday as per CMR Regulatory requirements for the Sewer plant. Therefore, it is important that when nonregistered renters are to arrive that the owners complete the Submit Guests/Visitors form showing occupancy and duration. Complete the following form prior to your guest’s arrival.

No Dogs are allowed for renters.

  1. Wednesday is Lawn Cutting Day!
To avoid busy weekends here at Club Mara Resort, our parks crew has dubbed Wednesday as lawn cutting day. This is weather dependent. We ask you to please ensure toys, hoses, etc. be removed from the lawn, as well as ensuring access for lawn equipment on this day.

The park and other communal areas will be mowed at managements convenience. Due to the hot afternoon sun, we will attempt to get all cutting done in the mornings and evenings.

  2. Park and Personal Safety
Please abide by all provincial fire restrictions. We will keep our website updated and post the campfire ban sign outside the clubhouse in the event of a ban. Fire Safety & Bans Please ensure that cedar trees in hedges on your lots are looked after and managed in accordance with prudent fire precautions. Dry and overgrown hedges can be a fire hazard once ignited with a spark. Please reference FireSmart BC Guide for further guidance and safety precautions.

It is recommended that each lot have a fire extinguisher that is visible and ready to use in the case of an emergency.
Remember to check the status to ensure it is full charged and ready to use.

An AED has been placed outside the satellite washhouse for emergency purposes. You can find more information on AED's here.

Reminder that the speed limit in the park for motorized vehicles is 10 kph, and please use caution when rounding blind corners and at the crosswalks.

  1. Garbage, Bottle and Can Recycling & Yard Waste
The dumpsters are for general household garbage. Please avoid using these for larger items like BBQ's, construction materials, furniture, etc. There are landfill sites in Sicamous and Salmon Arm for larger items.

The shed nearest the dumpsters is for bottles and cans ONLY, that can be recycled. Proceeds from the collection goes to fund Social Committee sponsored events and purchases to enhance the park.

Yard waste is collected in the U behind the tennis courts, please ensure this is compostable materials only.

  1. Electrical Sheds, BC Hydro Electrical Transformer Boxes & Septic Fields
There are 5 electrical sheds situated throughout the park where the BC Hydro meters for each lot are located. If you have an electrical shed bordering your property, please do not alter the exterior of these sheds for any reason.

There are several green BC Hydro Electrical Transformers located throughout the park. The areas surrounding each transformer needs to stay clear of dirt, plants, trees and rocks to ensure BC Hydro can access them without difficulty.

As mandated by the Club Mara Resort Sewage Permit, vehicular access to the disposal field must be restricted. Empty boat or PWC trailers only will be allowed to park on the septic fields. ONLY onsite management is allowed to access the septic field to park empty trailers using lightweight vehicles.

  1. Pool & Hot Tub
Pool and hot tub hours are from 8am till 10pm daily.

To ensure the safety and well-being of swimmers we ask that everyone using the pool and hot tub rinse in the showers prior to use. Products and particles on our bodies, in our hair and on our swimwear can interfere with the chemicals in the pool that are designed to limit bacteria and algae growth. Rinsing prior to use will allow for less down time for treatment of the pool and hot tub.

Please abide by all posted pool/hot tub rules and notices. If the pool &/or hot tub are closed there will be temporary signage posted on the entry door of the pool room.

The pool is open from May long until Thanksgiving weekend. The hot tub is open year-round.

  1. Parking
Overflow parking of vehicles is available near the main entrance gate and by the tennis court/along the Willow Shores fence.

As of June 27th, 2024, there is to be no parking of any cargo trailers, utility trailers, recreational equipment, or any other storage type units in the overflow parking areas. The park does not have enough available space for all owners to permanently park such units and therefore request they be removed to allow for parking of overflow vehicles for visitors.
